OMAHA, Neb., May 10, 2016- Beethoven’s youthful first symphony caps the final concert of the Omaha Symphony’s 2015/2016 Symphony Joslyn series on Sunday, May 22, 2 p.m., at Joslyn Art Museum.
Conducted by Music Director Thomas Wilkins, the Beethoven’s 1st Symphony concert will also include Richard Strauss’ charming Duet-Concertino, inspired by a tale by Hans Christian Andersen and performed by two of the Omaha Symphony’s outstanding principal woodwinds, Carmelo Galante, clarinet, and James Compton, bassoon. Zemlinsky’s Sinfonietta will open the program.
