PRESS RELEASE: Symphony Rocks Series "Takes it Easy" with The Best of the Eagles

OMAHA, Neb., September 22, 2016- Music from the best-selling American band of all time will open the Omaha Symphony’s Symphony Rocks series with The Best of the Eagles, Saturday, October 1, 7:30 p.m., at the Holland Performing Arts Center. Led by guest conductor Jeff Reed and featuring the Retro Concerts Band, the program will include the music that put the Eagles on the map: “Hotel California,” “Best of My Love,” “Heartache Tonight,” “One of These Nights,” “Desperado,” and “Take It Easy.”

PRESS RELEASE: Symphony caps Symphony Joslyn series with Beethoven’s symphonic debut

OMAHA, Neb., May 10, 2016- Beethoven’s youthful first symphony caps the final concert of the Omaha Symphony’s 2015/2016 Symphony Joslyn series on Sunday, May 22, 2 p.m., at Joslyn Art Museum. Conducted by Music Director Thomas Wilkins, the Beethoven’s 1st Symphony concert will also include Richard Strauss’ charming Duet-Concertino, inspired by a tale by Hans Christian Andersen and performed by two of the Omaha Symphony’s outstanding principal woodwinds, Carmelo Galante, clarinet, and James Compton, bassoon. Zemlinsky’s Sinfonietta will open the program.

PRESS RELEASE: Omaha Symphony performs two educational children’s concerts at Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium

OMAHA, Neb., April 27, 2016- Get ready to explore the musical landscapes of the Omaha Symphony at Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium! The symphony will present two special performances of its Mission Imagination education program, The Musical Adventures of Melvin the Explorer, Tuesday, May 3, with performances at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., in the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium. Over 600 students from 17 area schools will attend the event.
