The Omaha Symphony is for Everyone


The Omaha Symphony’s mission is to enrich people’s lives through the experience of live orchestral music. We recognize that we must continue to evolve in order to represent the people we serve. We are focused on creating a welcoming space, and nurturing connections to ensure the Omaha community experiences and participates in music in a way that serves, reflects, uplifts, and entertains.

The Omaha Symphony is a non-profit organization that annually serves over 400,000 people through more than 250 live orchestral performances, education programs, community activities, and digital initiatives. In addition to Masterworks, Symphony Joslyn, Family, Cathedral, and LIVE with the Omaha Symphony concert series, the orchestra’s nationally recognized education programs, community engagement activities, and free outdoor concerts touch the lives of more than 140,000 people and nearly 300 schools each year.

We are committed to our community, and live by three pillars:

Belonging and Bridge Building We ensure every musician and staff feels respected, seen, valued, able to contribute fully, and perform comfortably and safely. We create a welcoming atmosphere for audiences of all backgrounds so that everyone can enjoy and connect with the music.

Variety of Perspectives We intentionally seek musical influences and perspectives from a wide range of communities and identities. Multiple perspectives broaden musical expression, deepen audience connection, and strengthen the ensemble by bringing together varied perspectives and talents. A variety of offerings can attract a wider set of potential patrons.
