PRESS RELEASE: Omaha Symphony announces Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone™ in Concert

OMAHA, Neb., Nov. 14. 2017 – The Omaha Symphony will perform Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert on Saturday, Nov. 25, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 26. 2 p.m., at the Holland Performing Arts Center, as part of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series. The concert will feature Principal Pops Conductor Ernest Richardson conducting the Omaha Symphony performing, to picture, every note from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Audiences will be able to relive the magic of the entire film in high-definition on a 40-foot screen while hearing the orchestra perform John Williams’ unforgettable score live to picture. OMAHA, Neb., July 26, 2017- Join the Omaha Symphony for a one-day ticket presale to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone™ in Concert on Monday, July 31, in preparation for the concerts on November 25 & 26. The tickets will be available at the Holland Performing Arts Center Box Office, 1200 Douglas Streets, or online at ticketomaha.com. Presale tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. and will be available until 11:59 p.m., July 31 only.

PRESS RELEASE: Omaha Symphony Assistant Conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez named Assistant Conductor of the Nashville Symphony

OMAHA, Neb., July 24, 2017- Omaha Symphony Assistant Conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez will step down from his position with the Omaha Symphony on September 1, 2017, to take a one-year posting with the Nashville Symphony as assistant conductor. During his Nashville tenure, he will return to Omaha in the 2017-18 season to conduct three subscription concerts with the Omaha Symphony as well as several community engagement programs. The Omaha Symphony will hold auditions for his successor in early autumn and will name a new assistant conductor soon after.

PRESS RELEASE: Omaha Symphony breaks attendance, ticket sales record in 2016-17 season

OMAHA, Neb., June 13, 2017- The Omaha Symphony has broken records for paid attendance and ticket sales in the 2016-17 season, achieving new highs since the orchestra moved to the Holland Performing Arts Center in 2005. In the 2016-17 season, which spanned 38 weeks from September 2016 through June 2017 and encompassed 54 concerts, paid attendance for Omaha Symphony performances at the Holland Performing Arts Center and Joslyn Art Museum was 64,938 - a new record. This is a 2.1 percent increase since last season, and a 34 percent increase since the 2011-12 season. Including attendance at education programs, community engagement events, and free concerts, more than 120,000 people attended the Omaha Symphony in 2016-17.
