The Joslyn series begins with Tomasi’s epic Fanfares Liturgiques, a brass and percussion triumph. Conductor Lee Mills than takes the orchestra through 20th century works for strings at the heart of this program: Bartók’s energetic Divertimento and Villa-Lobos' ode to Johann Sebastian Bach. Soprano Sonya Headlam joins the Omaha Symphony for Barber’s lovely, nostalgic homage to childhood.
