The Symphony Joslyn series begins with a percussion and brass triumph, Tomasi’s incredible Fanfares Liturgiques. Travel back to the 20th century with works for strings at the heart of this program: Bartók’s energetic Divertimento and Villa-Lobos' ode to Johann Sebastian Bach. Soprano Sonya Headlam joins the Omaha Symphony for Barber’s Knoxville Summer of 1915, a poignant homage to childhood.
