Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances
The thunder of percussion propels this program from the dance clubs of Mexico, through the smoky haze of Spanish nightlife, to Rachmaninoff’s frenzied Symphonic Dances.

RACHMANINOFF: Symphonic Dances
Dance rhythms live at the heart of this Masterworks program by returning conductor Maurice Cohn. The thunder of timpani and percussion brings us from Ortiz's dance clubs of Mexico through Rachmaninoff’s overwhelming, frenzied Symphonic Dances. De Falla balances his series of dances, each more ferocious than the last, with color and beauty.
