Omaha Symphony is fusing classical, contemporary dance and hip hop music live on stage! Pairing the traditional talents of the Omaha Symphony with the rhythm and soul of Cuxlr House and six dance companies, this concert will showcase sampling classical music in Hip Hop and the merging of classical music with non-traditional, contemporary dance forms. Alejandro Gómez Guillén will conduct the performance at Omaha North High School, leading the experiment in remixing and reclaiming rhythmic phrases from 400-year-old repertoire and reframing it in the context of 2024. Dance companies will showcase their interpretations of the strong cadence of baroque sounds, and Marcey Yates, a local artist and founder of Culxr House, will be layering beats and vocals with 'live looping" by the orchestra. Also joining us is our very own Associate Principal Violinist Ahra Cho, along with Omaha Symphony violinist Henry Jenkins, Pear Tree Performing Arts, and others. With a long list of community partners, this concert will truly be a new and unforgettable experience for hip-hop aficionados, classical fans, and music lovers alike.

Forte programs embrace radical hospitality. We welcome you as you are and appreciate your registration in the form below so we can ensure we have enough seats for all.
