May 22, 2025
We discussed Disney PRIDE in Concert with Brannon Fells, the show's Creative Producer and the Director of Concert Program Development & Operations for Disney Concerts.Sunday, September 14
Our Scary Movie Music concerts on October 17 and 18 will feature unbelievable live performances of the hair-raising scores from your favorite scary movies, but the fun doesn't stop there.
What is Scary Movie Music?
It's Omaha's most electrifying Halloween party featuring live orchestral performances of the hair-raising scores from your favorite scary movies, like The Shining, Psycho, Alien, Jaws, and more! We’re building this program from the ground up, and we’ve never done anything quite like it.
This is not your usual concert experience; we're transforming the Holland Center into a festival of fantasy complete with mystical activities, themed drinks, a coating of fog, and more spooky surprises. Let's take a look at the itinerary.
Hear your fortune at The Witching Hour
This party kicks off with The Witching Hour at 6:30 p.m. both nights. We've recruited community partners and performers to create a pre-concert experience like none other. Guests include:
Papa Newt: A spiritual reader with more than 15 years of experience helping people find clarity and direction, Papa Newt will use cards and bones as tools of insight. He offers gentle, meaningful guidance that speaks to both tradition and the modern journey of life.
Wayne Brekke: As an experienced Runeweaver, Wayne seeks to help others through rune readings and spiritual consultation. His work incorporates runes and a variety of magical practices to bring insight to his clients.
The Balloon Brigade: A professional fortune teller from The Balloon Brigade will be offering clairvoyant perspectives into patrons' futures.
LOLUG: The Lincoln and Omaha LEGO Users Group is preparing LEGO displays of some the most iconic scary movie scenes!
Make sure to arrive at The Witching Hour early to participate in the activities, take photos at the custom backdrop, and grab some special themed treats!
Costume Contest
What Halloween party is complete without a costume contest? At intermission, we will pick the best costumes in three categories: Funniest, Best Group or Couple, and Most Creative. Winners will receive a prize!
Matt Geiler, the man behind the Dancing Pumpkin Man, hosts
You may know him as the mastermind behind the Dancing Pumpkin Man - a local Omaha TV sketch turned legendary Halloween meme - but Matt Geiler’s comedic genius knows no bounds. He’ll be the night’s guide (and comedic relief) as we explore a wide swath of eerie soundtracks and spine-tingling classical compositions.
Résonance Returns
Our friendly neighborhood vocal ensemble Résonance will join us at this concert to sing a smattering of spooky songs, like "Double Trouble," John Williams' piece for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Danny Elfman's "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
After Party with DJ Brent Crampton
The party does not end when the concert does! Stay after to hit the dance floor with vibes curated by OEAA winner DJ Brent Crampton.
