About the Position
The Omaha Symphony is seeking a Viola player for the position of Core Viola. This is a full time, tenure-track position. The Omaha Symphony’s 38-week season with optional 39th week is stylistically diverse, and equal emphasis is placed on public performances and education/community engagement programs. Some travel will be required within the Omaha Metro area.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary for this position in the 2026/2027 season is $46,928.99 . Additional compensation includes an annual $1,000 electronic media guarantee and an optional nonconsecutive 39th week of work ($1,234.97), for a total annual salary of $48,163.96
Benefits include: paid personal, sick, & audition leave, a two-week paid holiday break in December, partially subsidized health, dental, and instrument insurance, and a 4% match on an employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement fund. The optional 39th week of work guarantees an additional in the 2026-27 season.
Audition Process
This will be a multi-round audition. Live Preliminary Rounds will be held on Wednesday August 26th 2026, and Semi- Final and Final Rounds will be held on Thursday August 27th 2026, in Omaha at the Holland Performing Arts Center.

The submission of a résumé and deposit does not guarantee invitation. Candidates will be notified via email if they are being invited on July 27th, 2026. No electronic deposits will be accepted. A deposit must be sent to complete your application; it is used to hold a spot for you in the audition. It will be returned upon your arrival to the audition.
