Tyler Sieh
Associate Principal Viola
A native Minnesotan, violist Tyler Sieh has served as the Associate Principal Viola of the Omaha Symphony since 2022. Prior to this, Tyler was a member of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in New Orleans and Associate Principal Viola with the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra. Tyler began his career as a member of the United States Air Force Band in Washington, DC.
Currently violist with the Maverick String Quartet, faculty artists-in-residence at University of Nebraska Omaha, Tyler was previously a founding member of the Lott String Quartet, artists-in-residence at the University of New Orleans. He also served as violist with the Augustana String Quartet, and prior to that he founded the Oleana Chamber Players in Washington, DC.
As an educator, Tyler serves on the viola faculty at the University of Nebraska Omaha and Creighton University, and during the summers he is a faculty member at the MasterWorks Festival in Virginia. Previously Tyler taught at the University of New Orleans, Augustana University, and Minnesota State University Mankato. Tyler holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music where he studied with Mark Jackobs and Lynne Ramsey and a master’s in arts management from the University of Oklahoma.
