Orlando Scalia

Third Clarinet and Bass Clarinet

Orlando Scalia joins the Omaha Symphony as Third Clarinet and Bass Clarinet for the 2026-2027 season. He is currently the Associate Principal Clarinet of the South Dakota Symphony, Bass Clarinetist of the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, and during the summers the Principal Clarinetist of Opera in the Ozarks. Orlando has performed with orchestras and chamber groups across the country, including the Houston Symphony, Des Moines Symphony, Wichita Symphony, and Opera Naples. Orlando graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and Master’s Degree from the College-Conservatory of Music at University of Cincinnati. His teachers include Ben Freimuth, Margaret Donaghue, Linnea Nereim, and Sasha Potiomkin. A native of Argentina, Orlando is currently loving his Midwestern home. When not looking for the elusive magic reed and mouthpiece, he can be found cooking and decanting that special bottle.
