Iris Wu

Violinist Iris Wu holds both her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in violin performance from the University of Michigan, where she studied under David Halen. A recipient of numerous fellowships and scholarships, she has performed at prestigious festivals including the Aspen Music Festival and School, Chautauqua Institution School of Music, Innsbrook Institute Summer Music Academy, and the Sewanee Music Festival.

An accomplished soloist and orchestral musician, Iris made her solo debuts with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra in 2013 and the National Repertory Orchestra in 2025. She has held leadership roles as Concertmaster of the Sewanee Symphony and the Naples Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and as Co-Principal Second of the National Repertory Orchestra. Prior to joining the Omaha Symphony, she enjoyed freelancing with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra, Lansing Symphony Orchestra, and Toledo Symphony Orchestra.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Iris moved to Naples, Florida at age nine. She began her violin studies a year later with Ming Gao, former Associate Concertmaster of Naples Philharmonic Orchestra. Outside of music, she enjoys reading, baking, and watching Chinese historical dramas.
