RELEASE: Singer-songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway and the Omaha Symphony craft a loving portrait of Barbra Streisand Oct. 23-24

OMAHA, Neb., Oct 6, 2021 — Platinum Award-winner, Tony-nominee and iconic American singer-songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway joins the Omaha Symphony for a warm and exciting evening of songs and stories in celebration of Barbra Streisand October 23 and 24. Throughout Callaway’s career, Streisand served first as an inspiration, then a mentor, then a collaborator; seven of Streisand’s albums feature songs written by Callaway, including “I Have Dreamed of You,” the song Streisand sang on her wedding day. With the Omaha Symphony performing alongside Callaway’s soaring vocals, it’s sure to be an evening that celebrates an American musical icon and reminds us of “the way we were.”

About Ann Hampton Callaway

A leading champion of the great American Songbook, Ann Hampton Callaway has made her mark as a singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, actress, educator, TV host and producer. Voted by Broadwayworld.com as "Performer of the Year" and two years in a row as "Best Jazz Vocalist," Ann is a born entertainer. Her unique singing style blends jazz and traditional pop, making her a mainstay in concert halls, theaters and jazz clubs as well as in the recording studio, on television and in film. She is best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical "Swing!" and for writing and singing the theme song to the hit TV series "The Nanny." Callaway is a Platinum Award-winning writer whose songs are featured on seven of Barbra Streisand's recent CD's.   • Heating and Cooling System – Upgrades to air handling units includes bipolar ionization filtering out viruses through ventilation.
  • Staff and Patron Precautions – Staff, volunteers and patrons are required to wear face coverings regardless of vaccination status.
