Missy Mazzoli’s work returns to the Witherspoon with These Worlds In Us, intense, emotional writing for chamber orchestra. Assistant Principal Flute Lisa Meyerhofer takes on Lowell Liebermann’s Concerto for Piccolo and Orchestra, highlighting the range of the orchestra’s smallest instrument. Kurt Weill’s Symphony No. 2 closes the program, a 20th century masterpiece written after his escape of Nazi Germany in 1933.
