About the Position

The Omaha Symphony is seeking a Flute player for the position of Assistant Principal Flute and Piccolo. This is a tenure-track position. The Omaha Symphony’s season is stylistically diverse, and equal emphasis is placed on public performances and education/community engagement programs. Some travel will be required within the Omaha Metro area.

Compensation and Benefits

The 2024/2025 season is 38 weeks. The annual salary for this position is $45,312.57. Benefits include paid personal, sick, & audition leave, a two-week paid holiday break in December, partially subsidized health & dental, and instrument insurance, and up to 4% match on an employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement fund.

Audition Process

This will be a multi-round audition taking place Thursday, May 30 through Saturday, June 1. If the position is filled by a current member of the orchestra, the runner-up may be offered the resulting vacancy.
