The combination of William Shakespeare, great composers and an orchestra in fine form made for an evening of beauty at the Holland Center on Saturday.
The Omaha Symphony’s Shakespeare Festival featured works inspired by the Bard’s plays. That’s a large list — in a press release previewing the concert, Music Director Thomas Wilkins said one of the hardest parts of the event was narrowing down which pieces to play.
Wilkins and the orchestra were up to the task. Saturday’s concert, the first of two in the festival, featured a well-curated and diverse lineup of works.
