  • PRESS RELEASE: The Omaha Symphony rocks out to the Music of Woodstock

It’s not an outdoor field in the middle of August, and concertgoers must keep their shirts on, but The Music of Woodstock will live again when the Omaha Symphony and Jeans ‘n’ Classics present the music that defined an era on Saturday, January 17, 7:30 p.m.

Conducted by Resident Conductor Ernest Richardson, The Music of Woodstock will feature watershed classics from the history-changing 1969 music festival, including Jefferson Airplane’s “Somebody to Love,” Jimi Hendrix’s “All Along the Watchtower,” Janis Joplin’s “Piece of my Heart,” and two Joe Cocker songs, “Delta Lady” and “With a Little Help from My Friends.” The orchestra will be accompanied by performers with Jeans ‘n’ Classics, including Rique Franks, Katalin Kass, Neil Donell, and Jean Meilleur on vocals, Dave Dunlop and Peter Brennan on guitars, John Regan on piano, Paul DeLong on drums, and Darryl Stacey on bass.
