Karen LeFrak’s Sleepover at the Museum follows the story of a young boy named Mason and his friends on their adventures at the Museum of Natural History. This interactive musical story had its New York premiere by Maestro Ankush Kumar Bahl and the New York Philharmonic with Jamie Bernstein as narrator. Children and their families are invited to join in and follow along on the adventure of this exciting story set to live music from the Omaha Symphony.

Pre-concert activities begin at 1:15 p.m.

The concert will be hosted by Nancy Novotny. As the Youth and Family Services Manager of the Omaha Public Library, Nancy Novotny oversees all youth and summer programming and is privileged to lead a team of 12 youth librarians and 30 youth specialists.

In her early years at OPL, Nancy used her charm and natural good looks to win over toddlers and their caregivers at various storytimes in the Millard and North Omaha communities. Previously, Nancy was a school librarian in a K-6 school in Papillion, Nebraska as well as a K-8 school in a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona.

Nancy has been reading since the age of 4, crediting Sesame Street and The Electric Company for her early education. Her favorite books as a child were the Nancy Drew series and the Trixie Belden series. She attended Bellevue East High School and earned a BA in English from Creighton University
