Chopin & Swan Lake

Holland Center Friday, October 18 at 7:30 PM & Saturday, October 19 at 7:30 PM

Tchaikovsky’s exquisite writing for ballet opens this program, with the drama and transformations so clear through the music that you can practically see the dancers on stage. Similarly popular to his Nutcracker Suite, but much less fanciful, Swan Lake takes audiences through a nuanced journey of love and betrayal.

Charlie Albright (“Among the most gifted musicians of his generation.” – The Washington Post) returns to Omaha for Chopin’s intimate Andante Spiniato and technique tour-de-force Grande Polonaise before Shostakovich’s mischievous, danger-laced Symphony No. 9 romps through the Holland.

Join us for a pre-concert lecture at 6:45 p.m. that will guide you step-by-step through the evening’s program.
