About the Position

The Omaha Symphony is seeking a highly qualified musician to play Violin beginning in the 2023-2024 season. This is a per-service, tenure track position. The Omaha Symphony’s concert season is stylistically diverse, and equal emphasis is placed on public performances and education/engagement programs. Some travel may be required within the Omaha Metro area.

Compensation and Benefits

The 130-service position guarantees the per-service rate for the 2023-2024 season is $147.93, with an annual guaranteed compensation of $19,230.90. Benefits include paid personal, sick leave, partially subsidized instrument insurance, and up to a 4% match on an employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement fund. Musicians living outside a 50-mile radius of the Omaha metro area will receive travel reimbursement.

Audition Process

This will be a standard, multi-round audition. All rounds will be live and held on Monday, April 10, 2023, in Omaha. If the position is filled by a current member of the orchestra, the runner-up may be offered the resulting vacancy.
