About the Position
The Omaha Symphony is seeking a highly qualified violist beginning in the 2023-2024 season. This is a per-service, tenure track position. The Omaha Symphony’s concert season is stylistically diverse, and equal emphasis is placed on public performances and education/engagement programs.
Compensation and Benefits
The 130-service position guarantees the per-service rate for the 2023-2024 season is $147.93, with an annual guaranteed compensation of $19,230.90. Benefits include paid sick and personal leave, partially subsidized instrument insurance, and up to a 4% match on an employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement fund. Musicians living outside the 50-mile radius of the Omaha metro area will receive travel reimbursement. The 2023/2024 season is 38 weeks.
Audition Process
This will be a standard, multi-round audition. All rounds will be live and held on Tuesday, May 9 in Omaha. If the position is filled by a current member of the orchestra, the runner-up may be offered the resulting vacancy.
