About the Position
The Omaha Symphony is seeking a highly qualified musician to play Cello beginning in the 2022-2023 season. This is a per-service, tenure track position. The Omaha Symphony’s concert season is stylistically diverse, and equal emphasis is placed on public performances and education/engagement programs.
Compensation and Benefits
The Full Contract position guarantees 112 services per year. The per-service rate for the 2022-2023 season is $138.90. The Full Contract annual guaranteed compensation is $15,556.80. Benefits include paid sick leave, partially subsidized instrument insurance, and up to a 4% match on an employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement fund.
The Auxiliary position guarantees 70 services per year. The per-service rate for the 2022-2023 season is $138.90. The Auxiliary annual guaranteed compensation is $9,723.00. Benefits include paid sick leave, partially subsidized instrument insurance, and up to a 4% match on an employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement fund.
Audition Process
This will be a multi-round audition. The Preliminary Round will be by video submission. In order to be considered, audition repertoire must be recorded in order and in one continuous take. Recordings will be reviewed by the Music Director and Audition Committee. Audio-only recordings and multiple-track submissions will not be accepted. The Semi-Final and Final Rounds will be held live in Omaha on Monday, May 23rd, 2021. If the position is filled by a current member of the orchestra, the runner-up may be offered the resulting vacancy.
