About the Position

The Omaha Symphony is seeking a viola player for the position of Associate Principal Viola. This is a tenure-track position. The Omaha Symphony’s concert season is stylistically diverse, and equal emphasis is placed on public performances and education/engagement programs.

Compensation and Benefits

The 2022/2023 season is 38 weeks. The annual salary for this position is $42,657.90, overscale commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid personal leave, a two-week holiday break in December, partially subsidized health & dental, and instrument insurance, and up to 4% match on an employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement fund.

Audition Process

This will be a multi-round audition. The Preliminary Round will be by video submission. In order to be considered, audition repertoire must be recorded in order and in one continuous take. Recordings will be reviewed by the Music Director and Audition Committee. Audio-only recordings and multiple-track submissions will not be accepted. The Semi-Final and Final Rounds will be held live in Omaha on Thursday, May 19th, 2022. If the position is filled by a current member of the orchestra, the runner-up may be offered the resulting vacancy.
