About the Position

The Omaha Symphony is seeking a trumpet player for the position of Associate Principal Trumpet. This is a tenure-track position. The Omaha Symphony’s concert season is stylistically diverse, and equal emphasis is placed on public performances and education/engagement programs.

Compensation and Benefits

The 2022/2023 season is 38 weeks. The annual salary for this position is $42,657.90, overscale commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid personal leave, a two-week holiday break in December, partially subsidized health, dental, and instrument insurance, and up to 4% match on an employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement fund.

Audition Process

This will be a multi-round audition. Candidates may choose between attending the live preliminary audition or submitting a pre-recorded video audition. In order to be considered, audition repertoire must be recorded in order and in one continuous take. Recordings will be reviewed by the Audition Committee. Audio-only recordings and multiple-track submissions will not be accepted. Live Preliminary, Semi-Final will be held on Monday, March 14th and the Final Round on Tuesday March 15th, 2022 in Omaha. If the position is filled by a current member of the orchestra, the runner-up may be offered the resulting vacancy.
