Funding Available Through the Nebraska Arts Council The Nebraska Arts Council’s School Bus for the Arts program provides grants of up to $500 to Nebraska schools to help underwrite the cost of busing and admission fees for arts events. A Family for Treble Treble the dog needs a home! An energetic, music-loving dog, Treble wants to be adopted by the Omaha Symphony. But who will take him home? Will it be the woodwinds? The strings? The percussion or the brass? Treble just can't decide! It's up to your students to help Treble learn about the different instrument families of the orchestra and find the perfect fit for him. But watch out, the Dog Catcher is on the prowl!

The Omaha Symphony is once again proud to partner with Carnegie Hall to present The Orchestra Moves! Students will discover musical movement by exploring the way composers use motif, melodic direction, and dynamics, all while learning to read music and play instruments. Designed for students learning to play the soprano recorder and stringed instruments, Link Up is a supplementary curriculum that culminates with your students performing live with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra.
Repertoire includes Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, Strauss's The Blue Danube, Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Toreador from Bizet's Carmen and more.

Teacher Training:
Participating teachers will be asked to attend an informational session to learn about the Link Up curriculum and concert experience, and to discuss strategies for classroom implementation. The training will take place on Monday, October 3rd at Catlin Elementary School from 4:15 - 7:00 p.m.

“The History of the World According to the Orchestra...So Far."
From the Stone Age to the Technology Age, this concert will explore the journey that man and music have taken together.
Guided by Resident Conductor Ernest Richardson and "The Professor," students will navigate the timeline of cultural and societal influences upon western civilization. From the music of the ancients to the breakthroughs of the Renaissance and forward through the modern era, this concert will ignite your students' imaginations.
Margre Durham Concerts for Youth blends the academic and musical classrooms to create a unique, engaging, and interactive experience for students.

Working to discover the artist within, students will explore music, visual art, theatre, dance, photography, and much more! Designed so they can create their own experience, students will participate in professionally led workshops of their choice, a tour of the Joslyn Art Museum, and a live concert experience with the Omaha Symphony Chamber Orchestra.
FORMAT FOR HIGH SCHOOL DAY!
High School Students who participate on November 2nd will have the opportunity to participate in a two hour intensive workshop of their choosing. With workshops offered in music, theatre, dance, and visual arts, your students will have an in-depth, immersion experience in their preferred discipline.

Romeo and Juliet meets West Side Story Once again the Omaha Symphony joins forces with Nebraska Shakespeare for a thrilling performance of music and theatre! A new and creative presentation that illuminates the connections between Shakespeare's text and Leonard Bernstein's moving score, this is an ideal opportunity for your students to immerse themselves in the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet.

Choral Collaborative provides opportunities for high school choirs to perform large symphonic and operatic works with the Omaha Symphony and guest soloists. Working towards a formal performance through individual and combined rehearsals, students are granted unparalleled experiences and access to the world of professional arts.
Congratulations to the 2011/12 Choral Collaborative Choirs: Bellevue East, Fremont High School, Omaha Bryan, Omaha Burke, Omaha Central, Lincoln Southwest, and Papillion La Vista South.

Reaching beyond the walls of the concert hall, Classroom Crescendos brings the live concert experience to your school. Newly designed with exciting repertoire and themes that allow cross-curriculum connections, these programs allow your entire student body to experience the best the Omaha Symphony has to offer - all from the comfort of the classroom.

AMERICAN TRADITIONS
Focusing on American music, this concert experience highlights the cultural traditions of our nation and explores the origins of some of our best loved music. Presented by the Omaha Symhony Brass Quintet.
AROUND THE WORLD
A program of exploration and discovery, students will find themselves whisked around the globe to thrilling and exotic locations by the power of music. Presented by the Fontenelle String Quartet.
EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT
Based on the concept of diversity, this program is presented by an eclectic group of instruments. Using a varied repertoire and rhythms from around the world, this ensemble celebrates the differences that make us unique while illustrating the skills necessary to work together. Presented by the Omaha Symhony Trio.
STOP! LOOK! LISTEN! SPEAK!
Just how do we communicate? Through the art of making music, this program explores the basic skills of communication and how music can be a vehicle for expression. Presented by the Omaha Symphony String Quartet.
IT'S WHAT MAKES YOU, YOU!
What is that special something that makes us an individual? An engaging concert experience that uses the uniqueness of the instruments and the exploration of musical styles to illustrate and demonstrate individuality, this program works to inspire self-expression and creativity in your students. Presented by the Omaha Symhony Woodwind Quintet.
